You’re Not Stuck — You’re Rooting

Hey friend,

This week’s YouTube video is live, and I want to talk to you about something that will save you a lot of frustration, burnout, and wheel-spinning if you catch it now.

Let’s talk about mission — not the trendy, Canva-polished version — but the kind that actually keeps you engaged, faithful, and aligned instead of chasing the “next best thing.”

What a Mission Really Is (Biblically Speaking)

Your mission is not just what you do.
It’s who you’re becoming while you do it.

A mission anchors you when emotions fluctuate, when numbers don’t move, and when comparison whispers, “You should be further by now.”

Without a mission, people confuse:

  • activity with obedience
  • movement with growth
  • quick wins with fruitfulness

And that’s how believers burn out while calling it “purpose.”

Building vs. Action (This Matters)

There is a difference between building and taking action.

Building is stewardship.
Action without alignment is noise.

Scripture is clear:

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)

Before God releases fruit, He develops roots.

Understanding the Season We’re In

Right now, on the Hebrew calendar, we’ve moved out of Tevet and into Shevat.

Tevet (December–January) is historically a warfare and fasting season — the siege of Jerusalem happened during this time. That’s why so many people felt pressure from all sides.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed…” (2 Corinthians 4:8)

If the last season felt heavy, constricting, mentally exhausting — that makes sense.

But here’s the shift:

Shevat is not a war season.
Shevat is a root-development season.

This is the season of the tree.

Roots grow before fruit appears.

So what if what feels like resistance right now isn’t warfare…
What if it’s God exposing the roots that need healing?

This Is Why You Feel “Stuck”

Not because you’re behind.
Not because you missed God.
Not because you need a new strategy.

But because:

  • roots are being revealed
  • character is being strengthened
  • faith maturity is being formed

Psalm 1 says:

“He shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season…”

Fruit has a season.
Roots come first.

What Your Focus Should Be Right Now

This is not the season for:

  • rushing launches
  • forcing momentum
  • comparing Q1 numbers

We don’t build like the world builds.

Right now, the work is:

  • spiritual nourishment
  • healing
  • repentance where needed
  • renewing the mind
  • staying rooted in the Word — daily, even briefly

Ask the Holy Spirit:

  • Is there a root of rejection?
  • Bitterness?
  • Fear?
  • Self-reliance?
  • Disappointment?

Let Him expose it so you can surrender it.

That’s how roots strengthen.
